These
projects for a community with an average consumption of 300,000 gpd consisted of
upgrading the Village’s water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution
system. Engineering and planning
services were provided for all phases of the project as follows:

The major components of these projects included:

New 0.500
MGD surface water filtration plant.
-
Installation
of approximately 29,850 lineal feet of 6, 8, and 10-inch water transmission mains and related appurtenances.
-
New 350,000
gallon precast prestressed concrete water storage tank.

The
total project cost of the 1992 project was $2,500,000.
A grant of $1,800,000 and a loan of $700,000 were secured from the
Farmers Home Administration to finance this project.
The total project cost of the 1998 project was $3,150,000.
A grant of $2,316,397 and a loan of $49,603 were secured from the NYS
Environmental Facilities Corporation, Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF)
to finance this project and a $784,000 cost reduction to Village was realized
from coordinating this project with construction of NYSDOT Highway Improvement
Project in the Village.
