Hamden Picks Firm For Septic Solutions

HAMDEN - At its monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 7, the Hamden Town Board unanimously approved to have LaMont Engineering of Cobleskill develop and design a septic system in the hamlet of Hamden. Funding will be from a $300,000 grant received from the Catskill Watershed Corporation.

The selection process was largely in the hands of the town wastewater management committee, comprised of Hamden Town Supervisor Wayne Marshfield, Councilwoman Rosemarie Bryden, town planning board member Ruth Bean and resident Donna Hoyt.

According to Marshfield, the committee reviewed the five bids that were received, and the final decision came after a number of meetings.

The supervisor noted that LaMont's bid included the Kevin Young legal team, considered "one of the best" in dealing with environmental issues related to the watershed and dealing with New York City.

LaMont Engineering has 18 months to complete the septic plan and design, said Marshfield.
